Truth: Humans love patterns. We can’t help ourselves.
No, literally, we can’t.
It’s a part of our survival package we bring with us when we’re traumatically brought into the Earth. Nature implanted a chip in our internal satellite dishes to recognize patterns as “operational.” So, when we’re on schedule, when the weather’s predictable, time, when our heartbeats and other bodily functions are rhythmic, when modes of transportation or communication are consistent, etc., we enjoy a sense of security.
Patterns say, “This is working. We are okay.”
So, of course, when we see an extraordinary pattern, such as 12/12/12, we instinctively think, “Wow, this is REALLY working!” And we’d be right.
Gnothology only recognizes numbers from 1 – 9, so any number outside of that frame needs to be “rooted,” which consists of adding the individual digits until we get a sum that falls between 1 and 9. (“0’s” don’t count because the principles of numerology acknowledges that there is no such thing as “void” or “nothing.”) So, since “12” is obviously outside the frame, it must be rooted:
1 + 2 = 3.
Whether you root the month, day, and year separately or altogether, you will still see the same final sum:
1 + 2 = 3 / 1 + 2 = 3 / 1 + 2 = 3 rooting sums: 3 + 3 + 3 = 9
1+ 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 9
9 is the number of Community, Posterity, The Ending of a Cycle, and Active-Manifestive Spiritual Energy.
However, the real art of Numerology lies in the findings. It’s not just the sum that counts, it’s how we got it, as well. To illustrate, let’s take the number 4, is the number of Discipline and Structure. A “true” (which means un-rooted) 4 would mean exactly that: Discipline, Structure, and Security. 13, however, would need to be rooted (1 + 3). The second number represents outside parties, while the first number represents the self, so therefore, this particular “4” indicates a dependency on others for your security. Yet, a 31 (3 + 1) would indicate that others are dependent on you.
So, here we find a really unique characteristic in 12/12/12: In regards to the sum (9), the two different calculations make a bit of a difference, so we actually have a choice as to which energy to utilize!
Both of them signify sequence of events: 1, 2 or 1, 2, 3 indicate a progression, usually in regards to personal goals: 1 is the Self, 2 is the Duality or Coupling, 3 is the number of Manifestation, Trinities -Sacred and Mundane, and Family. All of these numbers are true and early in the “frame” (1 – 9), so therefore have an egocentric or “new” energy. However, adding the sums (1 + 2 = 3 / 1 + 2 = 3 / 1 + 2 = 3 rooting sums: 3 + 3 + 3 = 9) signifies gathering of resources before reaching a goal: “First step, I start here, next I do this, then finally that and put that aside…Now, step 2, I do this, then that, then put that aside…” Whereas adding the entire sequence (1+ 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 9) signifies taking one step after another: “1, 2, 1, 2, left, right, left, right, links, 2, 3, 4!” (Sorry, couldn’t resist slipping in the Rammstein reference) kind of like an energetic march straight to where you’re heading.
Of course, the question of where you’re heading is a whole different animal…
So, now, we ask, “Which calculation or energetic pattern would suit me best?” The answer: It depends on what you’re doing.
If you are an entrepreneur, in a field or have an idea in which your success depends on the strength of your network and resources, then the first calculation would suit you best. This would also work for new congregations, philanthropic efforts, covens, activist groups, learning circles, theatre companies, bands, etc.
If you’ve been seeking advancement in your own personal goals, where the success is completely entirely dependent on your efforts, then the second is recommended. “One step in front of the other” is the best anyone can do to get from one point to another.
12/12/12 is a day of advancement, a visual and energetic reminder to “upgrade,” and move forward.
The Universe can only show us the door…
